Radical

I went to Barnes and Noble on Friday. I decided to stop in the Christian Inspiration section and I picked up the book by Daniel Platt called Radical. I read the first two chapters and was in absolute awe. In those two chapters, I was convicted so strongly on so many different issues. I will definately be finishing the book and giving my full review on this site.
So, if you have heard of the book but have not read it I urge you to read it. If you have never heard of it I still urge you to read it. Once I review the book online, I would love to see comments.

Halloween

Introducing: Hermoine Granger

Katie really wanted to take this wand with her to trick or treat. We did not because it was hand carved by someone in North Carolina and was a birthday gift from....

Mr. Harry Potter!

portrayed by Dawson

But that isn't where the excitement ended, oh no. We had a special guest appearance from Antoine Dodson!

Hide yo' kids, hide yo' wife...

It was a great Halloween night, even if we celebrated on October 30th instead.

a Lineage of Grace

I have been for the past month trying to finish what has proven to be an excellent book by Francine Rivers. The book is a compilation of stories about five incredibly strong women. I started the book and had already completed the story of Tamar before our pastor began his newest sermon series, "Whatever It Takes". I could not pick a better story than Tamar's to describe how we are to do whatever it takes for the God we serve.  Her strength and faith in a God she knew so little about was unbreakable. Despite the fact that she was a Caananite, she sought knowledge of Judah's God. I have heard Tamar's story many times and yet I am still amazed by her every time. We should all strive for that same immeasurable passion for the Lord. We should all do whatever it takes to glorify him throughout our lives. Each of us should lead such a life that would cause others who come after us to be amazed by our story.

Direction

I've always wanted to blog. I've always thought I had a million things to say and that the world would want to hear some of those things. I felt that way right up until I created this blog. I had a huge realization. All my thoughts were gone. When I stared at the blank screen waiting patiently for the words to just fill up the space and flow rapidly and continuously I was shocked. An hour later, still nothing written. Two days later, still nothing written. I have contemplated all the reasons that went into creating a blog in the first place. I kept coming up like my computer screen...blank!
I am into so many things and there are so many different aspects to my character. I am not defined by one simple word or category. There are so many things I want to be a part of and understand. I have read hundreds of other blogs searching for ideas and trying to gain perspective. I have only been swallowed up by the giant beast, the internet.
Sometimes I feel like the little white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. I'm running as fast as I can and of course I am late. But for what?
I found something on a friend's blog. It was a site for book reviews. I signed up for it today and my new book is on its way. All I have to do is review the book on my blog and one other website and they will continue to send me free books in exchange for my time in reading the book and writing the review. So with that, my quest for what to use this blog for has been answered.
The amazing part is that I came up with the title for my blog a while back and now it seems to fit with my new journey.
